Philanthropy
The Shorenstein family and company have long been committed to philanthropy both locally and nationally. It’s a core value of our culture as we believe we can amplify the positive impact we have on communities by giving back to them. That’s why we offer our Giving Programs, the Employee Volunteer Program, and the Donation Matching Program.
In 2023, Shorenstein matched donations to more than 120 causes. With the combined employee donations and corporate matching, more than $73,000 was donated to 127 different non-profits last year. Since the program’s inception in 2019, $368,260 has been donated to causes that our employees are passionate about. Additionally, employees are actively volunteering for many of these causes either individually or with their department for up to 16 work hours per year. 202 volunteer hours were logged in 2023.
Diversity
At Shorenstein, we believe diversity of thought, inclusivity, and integrity help create value and benefit our communities. We value each employee’s unique experience and perspective, which guide their contributions towards successfully developing and operating properties that meet ever-changing tenant requirements. We are committed to recruiting and fostering a diverse workforce and to collaborating with our employees, investors, tenants and vendors of all races, colors, national origins, gender identities, sexual orientations, ages, religions, and abilities.
We are proud of the diversity of our workforce. In recent years, we have met or surpassed industry benchmarks with respect to racial diversity across our organization and management positions held by women. We continue to focus on diversity by implementing initiatives focused on expanding our partnerships, as well as recruiting, training, retaining, and engaging. The following are some of our long-term partnerships, who we continue to support.
